Chunky Vintage Necklace
Chunky Vintage Necklace
This project is also available as a kit here

Ingredients
1/2 meter of thin 2.5mm black satin cord
1 x Silver Plated Lobster Clasp
Additional Tools Required: Side Cutters, Chain Nose Pliers, Split Ring Pliers (optional)
Method
1. Begin by tying a knot in the satin cord approx 11cm from the end of the cord
2. Next thread on a bead and tie another knot in the cord - as you tighten this knot gently slide it towards the beads with your fingers so that it ends up nice and snug against the bead.
3. Continue adding beads and knotting until you have used all five beads
4. Snip off the excess cord leaving approx 11cm after the last bead
5. Now insert the cord into the cord ends and using your chain nose pliers firmly fold each side down onto the cord - press nice and hard to make sure it's secure
6. Finally add the split rings to the cord ends but don't forget to add teh lobster clasp to one of the split rings before you close it up.
Tip: You'll find it easier to open and close split rings if you use a pair of split ring pliers (they also save all those broken nails!!)
