Lime Button Charm Necklace

Abi designed this zesty charm necklace using our slice of lime button packs and some pretty charms...

Ingredients

1/2 meter of Olive Suedette Cord

1 Pack of Slice of Lime Buttons

2 x Sterling Silver 2.9mm Cord Ends

15 x Sterling Silver 2 Inch Headpins

1 x Plain Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp

6 x Swarovski 4mm Bicones in Olivine

6 x Swarovski 4mm Bicones in Lime

3 x Bali Silver Twist Beads

1 x Pewter Bird Charm

1 x Pewter Dragonfly Charm

5cm of 7mm Sterling Silver Cable Chain

4 x Sterling Silver 6mm Jumplocks or jump rings

Tools Required: Round Nose Pliers, Chain Nose Pliers, Side Cutters

Method

1. Begin by threading the buttons and beads onto the headpins in the pattern shown.

2. Next by attaching the beads and buttons to the chain using your round nose pliers to create wire wrapped loops on the headpins - for a free video demonstration of how to create wire wrapped loops click here.

3. Attach the two charms to the chain using the jumplocks or jump rings

4. Attach the suedette cord to the end of the chain - fold the suedette cord in half and thread the centre of the suedette through the top of the chain (you will now have a loop of suedette sticking out of the top of the chain), next thread the ends of the suedette back through the loop and pull tight.

5. Thread the cord ends onto the ends of the suedette and squash the mid section of them using your chain nose pliers (there is no need to use any glue as the cord ends will grip the suedette securely).

6. Attach the clasp to the cord ends using the two remaining Jumplocks or jump rings.
