Butterfly Ring

Very simple, cheap and easy to make...the silver foil butterfly beads are available in four different colours

Ingredients

0.6mm Gold Plated Wire

Silver Foil Glass Buttefly Bead

Tools Required: Wooden Ring Mandrel, Side Cutters, Crimping Pliers

Method

1. Snip off 20cm of 0.6mm Gold Plated Wire and thread on the butterfly bead.

2. Bring the butterfly bead to the centre of the wire and take the wire around the back of the butterfly and secure by twisting (see photo below showing the back of the ring)

3. Next take the ring mandrel and draw a line around it a little larger than you'd like your finished ring to be.

4. Position the butterfly and the wire on the ring mandrel and wrap both ends of the wire around the mandrel about 3 times.

5. Slip the ring off the mandrel and finish by wrapping the two ends of the wire around the ring band and sniping off any excess wire.

6. Use your crimping pliers to flatten down any sharp edges where you have cut the wire.
