Chain Maille Jewellery Workshops

Chain maille is made of small metal rings linked together in a mesh pattern. Throughout the High Middle Ages, it was used to create body armor for soldiers. In the 14th century, chain maille began to be gradually replaced by plate armor.
Although chain maille has many practical uses, it is also quite beautiful in appearance. This makes the material an excellent choice for jewellery making.
Chain maille can be used to create necklaces, pendants, earrings, bracelets, anklets, and headpieces.
Our chainmaille classes are taught by Lynda Plumtree of Gemazing Jewellery - Lynda has been making all kinds of jewellery for many years and specialises in stunning bead weaving & chain maille designs.
To book a workshop please call our shop on 01353 749853 during our opening hours (10am - 3pm).
This workshop costs £25 per person plus materials - material costs vary depending on your choice of metal, costs are approx £30 for sterling silver designs and approx £10 for copper or silver plated designs (you can decide which metal you'd like to use on the day of the workshop).
