In this beginners CRAW (cubic right angle weave) class designer and tutor Susie Hoad will teach you how to create rings which can be joined together to create statement necklaces or used on their own to create a lariat. You will also learn how to create an embellished bar which you can used to fasten your lariat necklace with. This workshop is suitable for beaders with basic thread tension (no experience of CRAW stitch is needed).

Introduction to Bead Weaving - Flat Spirals - 7th March 2020

This class is a great way to get started at beading and it's perfect for beginners. You'll learn how to bead a Flat Spiral in your choice of colours using crystal beads, pearls and seed beads. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners with no jewellery making experience. The Flat Spiral Stitch is a perfect introduction to the hobby of jewellery making, it is a very easy and versatile stitch that can be used to make bracelets, necklaces and even earrings.

Students will create a Byzantine bracelet that looks like it is straight out of a museum! This bracelet features a lot of texture, a lot of the newest Miyuki QuarterTila beads, and just the right amount of sparkle with Swarovski Elements crystal cabochons and crystal beads.

Students will Learn: This jewel is a definite eye-catcher, and when you look closer you discover a lot of exquisite details, including an interesting way of attaching the cabochons to the base. Students will work with the newest 2-hole Miyuki beads creating the structural base, then learn to attach the cabochons to it.

Students will Learn: The Pompeia Earrings are great for students wanting to learn or practice their bezelling skills. You'll use Peyote stitch to bezel Swarovski components and then embellish the work with extra beads and learn how to join the pieces together to create the earrings.
Prerequisites: Experience peyote stitch and basic thread tension would be a bonus - but if you're a beginner then don't worry - we're here to help!

This intermediate, and very sparkly, class will cover beading some unique & versatile crystal components (all from Jean's Karratu series of beadwork) that can be turned into bracelets, pendants, necklaces, charms, earrings, beaded balls… and much more! The class will cover not just making the beaded bezels but also using them for making finished items so you'll leave with lots of inspiration. You will leave with all of the skills you need to complete this project at home as well as a full set of instructions.

Pearl Knotting Class - Beginners - Saturday 4th April

Come and learn how to hand knot freshwater pearls onto silk thread using the traditional technique. Students will learn how to learn how to choose the correct size of silk and french wire. How to use French Wire to finish the ends of your necklace securely and how to knot your pearls up close to one another using a pair of knotting tweezers. We'll also show how this same technique can be used to knot other beads such as gemstones to create yoga mala necklaces and more.

Bead Embroidery Easter Bunnies (and other animals) with Wendy Kean - 11th April 2020

Heather Kingsley Heath Masterclass - Verona Bracelet

The Verona design is inspired by the Italian Rennaisance jewels and traditional lattice hair adornments. The design is a new technique to create a squared bezel; which is combined with a netting technique that makes this an easy to slide on, expandable bangle. The combination is so versatile, included in the class is an option to create an elegantly curved necklace to complement the bracelet.

Heather Kingsley Heath Masterclass - Annecy Necklace

Spoilt Rotten Beads is delighted to once again be welcoming the wonderfully talented designer, author and tutor Heather Kingsley Heath. The lake at Annecy is the most beautiful turquoise blue, and the medieval buildings reflected in the waters were the inspiration for this pendant design. Constructed and layered, then embellished with tiny crystal mesh elements. The pendant hangs from a chain intersected with beaded beads. Skill level: intermediate, confident with thread tension.
