Kumihimo Cabs Workshop with Pru McRae.
Learn how to encase a lunasoft cabochon inside a kumihimo braid decorated with beads. This workshop is suitable for beginners or for more experienced kumihimo beaders who want to add to their skills.
Cost £30 plus materials
Materials and Tools List:
The braid is made with 6-strand embroidery thread (eg Anchor, DMC), which is sold in 8m skeins. 16m is required and this can be across one, two or four colours. This is not available at Spoilt Rotten Beads but you should be able to find it in your local haberdashery store.
1 LunaSoft Round Cabochon, 24mm
2g Miyuki Seed Beads, size 8/0
2g Miyuki Seed Beads, size 11/0, main colour
2g Miyuki Seed Beads, size 11/0, contrast colour
Beading Foundation such as Nicole’s Bead Backing – enough to cover the back of the cabochon
Ultra Suede, enough to cover the back of the cabochon
Glue-in clasp, 5mm
Kumihimo disk, large or small
8 no tangle bobbins
50g kumihimo weight
Beading needle, size 10
