Lapis Lazuli...

We no longer stock Lapis Lazuli as it is now classed as a conflict stone – sales of Lapis fund the Taliban in Afghanistan.

This Lapis Lazuli is now a “conflict stone” with 90% of the world’s Lapis coming from Taliban controlled mines in Afghanistan. Once it has been mined Lapis is shipped to China where it is processed (batches from multiple sources are mixed together to be polished, drilled and graded). and then sold on to bead stores and jewellery makers all over the world – as such it is not possible to find an “ethical” source of Lapis Lazuli at this time.

More information on this can be found here https://www.globalwitness.org/en/campaigns/afghanistan/war-treasury-people-afghanistan-lapis-lazuli-and-battle-mineral-wealth/

Below you will find some great alternatives to natural Lapis which you can use with a clear conscience!
