Honeycomb beads in black
4mm Preciosa pearls in matte black
0.2mm Silver Plated Non Tarnish Wire
Silver Plated Earwires
Black or Smoke Fireline Thread and a size 10 beading needle
Method
- Cut a 25cm length of 0.2mm wire and thread the honeycomb bead onto the centre of the wire, Now pick up 8 seed beads

- Pick up 8 more seed beads and thread back through the first 7 added in this step, and back through the honeycomb bead again
- Pick up 8 more seed beads and thread back through the first 7 added in this step, and back through the honeycomb bead again
- Now finish off this piece of wire by wrapping it a few times around one of the “legs”
- Repeat steps 1-7 for the other 4 legs using the empty hole in the honeycomb bead
- Now you’re ready to add your spiders head. Thread your needle with a short length of fireline thread. Attach the thread by sewing through the hole on the top of the honeycomb bead and knotting the tail of thread together with the working thread.
- Now thread on a 4mm pearl followed by another seed bead.
- Miss out the seed bead and sew back down through the pearl and then back through the honeycomb bead again – centre the pearl on the top of the honeycomb bead. Repeat your thread path several times to add strength to the piece.
- Finally attach the earwire by threading the loop on the earwire through the 11/0 seed bead on top of the pearl.
Enjoy scaring people with your spider earrings!
