Chain Maille Byzantine Bracelet

Ingredients

1 Pack 18g 5/32 Jump Rings in Purple

1 Pack 18g 5/32 Jump Rings in Sky Blue

1 Pack 18g 5/32 Jump Rings in Royal Blue

1 x Silver Plated Lobster Clasp

20cm length of copper wire

Tips:

Before you start make a pile of open rings (this willspeed up the process of making your bracelet).

Do not grip the rings too tightly with your pliers asthis can cause marks, especially with the coloured rings.

You will find it easier to use Bent Chain Nose pliers toopen and close your rings with rather than regular Chain Nose Pliers

It is very important to close the rings properly as youmake your piece. This will have a big effect on how the piece looks. To closethe rings correctly you’ll need to take the open ring and grip one side withyour chain nose pliers and the other side with another pair of chain nosepliers. Next close the ring and go slightly past where the ends meet, then bringthe two ends together. It’s worth practising this technique until you’re happywith the result – a properly closed ring will look almost seamless.

Enjoyed that? Try making the same Byzantine Weave Bracelet using our lovely Titanium Chain Maille Rings – they’re stunning (Titanium is a much harder metal than Aluminium so you will find the rings a little tougher to open and close!).
