Golden Spiral Earrings

Golden Spiral Earrings

Juliet designed these lovely sparkly earring during her first attempt at playing with the Wire Coiling Gizmo which is really easy to use…

Ingredients

0.6mm Gold Plated Wire

2 x Gold Plated Bali Style Headpins

2 x Gold Plated Earwires

12 x 4mm Gold & Crystal Bicones 437

Tools Required: Wire Coiling Gizmo, Round Nose Pliers, Side Cutters

Ingredients

1. Take a 50cm length of 0.6mm Gold Plated Wire and following the instructions on the Wire Coiling Gizmo make a coil approx 6cm long. Snip the coil off the shank of the gizmo and remove all but the first 3 coils, then take the wire coil and wrap it around the outside of the gizmo to create a spiral bead (there are very easy instructions included with the Wire Coiling Gizmo which show you how to do this. Reshape the wire bead by hand until you are happy with the shape – you’ll need to make sure that the coils aren’t too close together so that you’ll be able to see the crystals inside it later on.

2. Repeat step 1

3. Take a headpin and thread one end of a wire coiled bead onto it, then thread on 5 crystals followed by the other end of the wire coiled bead – that way the crystals will sit inside the bead.

4. Thread on another crystal and use your Round Nose Pliers to create a wire wrapped loop at the top of the headpin, snip off any excess wire and attach the headpin to one of the earwires.

5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 for the other earring.
