Ingredients

6mm Fire Polish Beads

4mm Fire Polish Beads

Size 11 Seed Beads

Toggle Clasp

Superlon D OR Fireline Threads

Size 10 Beading Needles

KEY:

SB = Seed Bead

6mm = 6mm Fire Polish

4mm = 4mm Fire Polish

R = Right Needle

L = Left Needle

Method

Stage 1

1. Cut a 6ft length of thread and add a needle to both ends

2. Take R and thread on a 6MM followed by a SB, 6MM, SB, 6MM, SB, 6MM, SB:

3. Let the beads fall to the centre of the 6ft length of thread and take L and thread it back through the last SB, 6MM and SB

4. Pull the threads together and the beads will form a circle:

5. Take L and thread on a 6MM, SB, 6MM, SB. Take R and thread on a 6MM

6. Take R and pass it through the last SB, 6MM and SB that you threaded on the L needle in the opposite direction:

7. Continue until you have beaded 21 ladders. Remember to pull the design tight as you go.

You may worry that the bracelet will be a little short at this stage but extra length is added on in stage 2 with the addition of the clasp to both ends.

Stage 2

8. R thread 3 SB, 4mm. L thread on 3 SB

9. Take L needle and go through the 4mm from the opposite direction:

10: Pull and it will form a loop:

11.R thread on 8 SB and one half of your toggle clasp

12. R needle go back through the 4MM and pull tight:

13. R needle work your way back up through all the SB that form the loop for the clasp (this will add strength)

14. L needle work all your way back up through the SB that form the loop for the clasp

15. You will end with both threads exiting the SB on either side of the bracelet – see below

16. R needle thread 3 SB, 4MM, 3 SB

17. R needle go through the 2nd 6MM on the opposite side of the bracelet. Pull and the thread and the beads will sit diagonally across the first set of 6MM:

18. L needle go through the 1st 6MM on the same side of the bracelet as your needle is:

19. L needle thread 3 SB, 4MM and 3 SB

20. L needle go through the 6MM on the opposite side of the bracelet and pull tight and the beads will sit diagonally across the second set of 6MM on the bracelet.

21. Continue the pattern until you have reached the other end of the bracelet and finish by going back through the final SB, 6MM and SB on the end of the bracelet:

22. Take the L needle and go back through the last SB, 6MM and SB at the end of the bracelet

23. You will finish with both needles exiting a SB on opposite sides of the bracelet:

24. L needle thread 3 SB, R needle thread 3 SB and 1 4MM

25. L needle go back through the 4MM from the opposite direction. Pull tight and it will form a loop

26. R needle thread 4 x 4MM, clasp and 4 x 4MM

27. R needle go back through the 4mm bead and pull tight:

28. L needle go back up threough all the seed beads that attach the clasp until you finish back next to the 6mm bead

29. R needle go back up through all the seed beads that attach the clasp until you finish next to the 6mm bead:

30. Your bracelet should now look like this:

31. Now you’re almost finished! Take R needle and thread on 2 SB

32. R needle go through the first 6mm bead that you come to on the edge of the bracelet:

33. R needle thread on another two SB and go through the next 6MM on the side of the bracelet:

34. Continue adding SB to the edge of the bracelet until you reach the other end. Repeat for the other side of the bracelet with the L needle. Bring both threads together by passing one thread through the final 6MM and knot the threads with a double knot. Trim the ends and you’re done!
