Finishing A Wire Bracelet/Necklace – Crimping

How to finish a wire bracelet or necklace – Crimping

The instructions below show you how to finish a necklace or bracelet made with Beading Wire, Tiger Tail or Beadalon Wire:

There are two ways of crimping – either you can fold a crimp bead using a specially designed pair of crimping pliers (as show in the diagram below), or you can simply “squash” a crimp bead completely using a pair of Chain Nose Pliers.

Either way you will need to thread on your crimp bead, followed by your clasp and then thake the wire back through the crimp bead before crimping.

The diagrams below show how to fold a crimp bead using a pair of crimping pliers – if you don’t have crimping pliers simply squash your crimp bead flat using a pair of Chain Nose Pliers.

Crimp Beads can also be used on Beadalon, Tiger Tail or other beading wire to hold a bead in place to make “illusion” or “floater” necklaces.
